Trails and Paths
There are a variety of trails throughout the park including concrete, asphalt, and a relatively new product for soft trails, recycled concrete. The main trail is a concrete loop that encompasses the large active recreational areas and ball fields, and separates the turf grass areas from the native seeded areas. The concrete main trail is exactly one mile long so one can easily gauge how far one has walked whether it's a brisk walk at lunchtime or a leisurely stroll with the dogs in the evening. (Be aware that dogs are required to be on a leash on the trails, and throughout the park, with the exception of inside the dog park.) More trails will be added in future phasing of the park as need becomes apparent and money becomes available.

Park Landscape
The active recreational areas of the park, including the soccer field areas and the ball fields are seeded with a sports turf mixture of bluegrass and rye, while the outlying open space areas are seeded with a native seed mix. If you look closely you may see several varieties of wildflowers, both annuals and perennials. A variety of trees and shrubs can also be seen in the park, of both hardwoods and evergreens. A mix of evergreen tree species planted just to the north of the park entrance recalls back to the park's past land history as a United States Forest Service tree farm growing site for growing and re-planting national forests in the western states.
The various planting beds, the roundabout, and along the parking lots are designed to blend into the rest of the park landscape while still being visually pleasing, and yet, being low maintenance.

Playground—Climbing Wall
A state-of-the-art playground is situated at the center of the park close to many other park amenities, including the restroom/concession building. This convenience allows for children to test their skills on the various types of play equipment while other members of the family take part in a ball game or other team sport. Over fifteen inches of a special playground wood mulch product goes beyond playground standards in ensuring a soft landing if one should fall from the various play equipment.
A complete climbing wall, and another small climbing rock for the younger ones, will provide a challenge to more adventurous visitors who dare to traverse the many routes. Infant swings, as well as a standard swing set will also be found at the playground.

Tennis Courts and Basketball Courts
Two regulation tennis courts will be found at the west end of the park. The tennis courts are completely fenced and furnished with wind screens. Town recreation departments and club organizations can reserve court times while it is first come, first serve, for the general public. Dogs and glass containers are not allowed.
A basketball court with six hoops is directly across from the tennis courts. A drinking fountain is located between the two facilities for replenishing your bodies water needs after a good workout.
A gravel parking lot services the tennis courts and basketball court, as well as the nearby dog park.
Dog Park
A landscaped dog park is located to the west of the tennis courts. It contains two fully fenced enclosures that can be used separately so that dogs can use the facility but stay separated from other dogs. To enter both dog enclosures the owner and dog must pass through an enclosure entrance where the dogs can be acquainted with other dogs before actually entering the compound. This helps eliminate any surprises between dogs in the compound and those entering. A listing of dog park rules is posted at the entrance to both enclosures. Also, dog waste pick up is requested at the dog park and a dog pick-up station is located there for that convenience. There is a bench in both enclosures so that the owners can relax while their dogs burn up some of that doggie energy.
Volleyball Courts and Horseshoe Pits
The park boasts two volley ball courts, as well as horseshoe pits, north of the park service road. The volleyball courts contain a special sand mix that is not too coarse, nor too fine. Park staff looked far and wide for the special sand mix and ended up finding it at a local source. The horseshoe pits are just to the south of the volleyball courts. These two amenities fit nicely into an area that is designated as a passive recreational area and picnic area. A picnic shelter with picnic tables is found close by for picnic use as well as getting out of the elements.
